This is Nigeria's first newspaper, which was floated by Reverend Henry Townsend in Abeokuta in 1859. It was published in Yoruba language with its English supplement.

Television Stations

Emmanuel TV.

This is a Christian television network with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. It was founded by T.B. Joshua, former senior pastor of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), in Lagos, Nigeria.

Radio Stations

Radio Diffusion Service (RDS)

This was the first radio station in Nigeria, which began in 1932 as an experiment by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).

Nigerian Broadcasting Service (NBS) This was established on June 1, 1952, after the success of the Radio Distribution Services in the country.

Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC)

This was launched on April 1, 1957, by an Act of parliament.
